What to expect when calling Arbor Care Inc.:

When calling Arbor Care Inc., you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff members who will determine the intent of your call. They will then request your zip code so that we may assign one of our Nine Certified Arborists to your currents needs. That arborist will contact you usually within 24 hours to set up a time when they can come out and look at your trees, and address any issues that you may have.

After your estimate is completed to your liking you must authorize Arbor Care Inc. to complete the agreed upon work prescribed on the estimate, by signing on the bottom left hand side and returning it to us. You will be entered into the system and assigned to our production team.

We generally have a short back-log of work, one to three weeks depending on the time of year, but we will complete your work as soon as we can. The production manager will tentatively schedule your job and will call you the afternoon the day before the crew comes out to complete the assigned job.

After the work has been completed to your satisfaction, an invoice will be sent by mail so payment can be submitted in a timely manner.

1. Do you guys do tree transplanting?

No, we do not transplant trees. However, if you do contact us, we can recommend someone who will.

2. Do you do landscaping?

No, we do not do landscaping. We are a full service tree care company, and although trees do encompass the beauty of ones landscaping, our sole focus is on the trees themselves. Again, we can assist you in finding the right landscaper. 

3. Do you treat sick trees?

Yes, we do treat sick trees. We can come out and inspect your trees and offer a suggestion for what needs to be done. This does not however guarantee that we will have a 100% success rate in healing your tree. Like everything else, you can give it medicine but that doesn't always mean it is going to get better. Also please remember that: "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

4. Does someone have to be present when you come out to quote or can the arborist leave a quote for me?

It is your choice to be present during an estimate. We recommend that someone be there to get a better understanding of what is being evaluated, but you are not required to be there.

5. What are bark lice?

This is a non harmful creature that can be treated with a water hose, although we recommend that you let them complete their task at hand.

6. What is exfoliating bark?

Not unlike our own skin, some trees bark grows in a manner that it is designed to flake off. This is natural for some of the following trees to do this. Ex. Crepe Myrtle, Lacebark Elm, River Birch

7. Do you shape trees?

We can shape trees, however it is not recommended that you shape large shade trees because removing vital limbs can cause stress on the tree, leaving it vulnerable to disease and can potentially cause death.

8. Can you make my fruit or nut tree produce more?

Trees that are healthy generally produce more fruit. Therefore the best way to produce more fruit is to promote good tree health. For example, regular fertilization, proper pruning, and good watering habits.

9. When is the best time to prune my trees?

Proper tree pruning can be done at any time. The best time depends on you objectives for pruning, but the dormant periods are generally the best time to prune. Dormant season prime time is from November through January, prior to spring bud break.

10. How much should I be watering?

Depending on the weather and rainfall, it is recommended to supply at least one inch of moisture per week, either through irrigation or rainfall.

11. Do you provide a free estimate?

Yes we do to the majority of the Houston area; however, based on the salesman, the area you are located, and the number of times he must come out prior to a job, you may be charged a small fee for the estimate. It should also be noted that we provide free estimates on work to be completed, not free consultations.

12. What forms of payment do we take?

We take all forms of payment.

13. When do I pay?

You pay when you receive an invoice in the mail, or at completion of the work to be done, if you wish to.

14. I got an estimate, how do I schedule the work?

On your bid at the bottom left, there is a place for you to sign and date and then return it to us. You can choose to mail it, scan and e-mail it, or fax it to us directly.

15. Do we do work on the weekends?

If need be, we do have crews that work on Saturdays for scheduled commercial jobs. Our Arborists will only work the weekend if they are requested to do so. Generally it is an overtime situation and pricing may be higher.

16. The needles on my pine tree all turned brown, is it dead?

It could be, but the best thing to do is have an Arborist observe the tree and make that determination.

17. Are these caterpillars going to kill my tree?

Generally they will not kill the tree; it just depends on the population levels and the health status of the tree, as well as the amount of damage done. It is best to consult one of our arborist for further information.

18. Can my tree be straightened; it started leaning during the hurricane 5 years ago?

Smaller trees have a better chance of being straightened. With larger trees it can be more difficult because roots have a firm establishment in the ground, so generally not.

19. Do you haul away the debris?

Yes we will haul away all debris that we create while completing your job. You may, of course, keep some or all of it if you wish.

20. How soon will the job be done?

We generally have a short back-log of work, one to three weeks. So the sooner your estimate is received the faster your work will be scheduled by our production manager to be completed. He will phone you the day before your work is to be done to make sure your service can be performed.
